Democrats Turn on ObamaCare: They Want to Stay in Office

Democrats!  The reality of ObamaCare – that EVERY DEMOCRAT voted for, and EVERY REPUBLICAN voted against – is hitting home.  Democrats passed the bill so we could see what was in it.

A majority of Americans didn’t want ObamaCare when Nancy and Harry forced it down our throats in 2009 and that’s not changed.  What has changed is how Democrats are seeing ObamaCare.  Remember when they were all going to proudly run on it?

Oops.  And it just keeps getting worse for Democrats.  Call it “unforeseen circumstances.”

Three senior House members told The Associated Press that they plan to strongly urge the administration to grant a special sign-up opportunity for uninsured taxpayers who will be facing fines under the law for the first time this year.

The three are Michigan’s Sander Levin, the ranking Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee, and Democratic Reps. Jim McDermott of Washington, and Lloyd Doggett of Texas. All worked to help steer Obama’s law through rancorous congressional debates from 2009-2010.

The lawmakers say they are concerned that many of their constituents will find out about the penalties after it’s already too late for them to sign up for coverage, since open enrollment ended Sunday.

That means they could wind up uninsured for another year, only to owe substantially higher fines in 2016. The fine s are collected through the income tax system.

Bottom line, they don’t want to go home and explain to their constituents that they are the cause of their higher ObamaCare related taxes.  It should be even worse for Democrat House Members.

Since the President is not likely to do anything to eliminate and replace ObamaCare, Republicans should do absolutely nothing about ObamaCare tax relief.  Let the leaches and their legislators suffer.
