About those 8 million people who signed up for ObamaCare…

The Obama administration made a big deal about “8 million” ObamaCare signups.  One of the, we’re not going to use the work “key,” provisions of the law that Democrats passed in 2010 without a single Republican vote is this:

Section 1312 (f)(3), which reads:

Access limited to lawful residents. If an individual is not, or is not reasonably expected to be for the entire period for which enrollment is sought, a citizen or national of the United States or an alien lawfully present in the United States, the individual shall not be treated as a qualified individual and may not be covered under a qualified health plan in the individual market that is offered through an Exchange.”

That’s as close as it gets to plain English.  Perhaps it should have said:  El acceso limitado a los residentes legales.

A devastating new Health and Human Services (HHS) Inspector General report released on Tuesday reveals that the Obama administration has yet to determine whether 1,295,571 of the over 8 million Obamacare enrollees are U.S. citizens lawfully in the country.

That means it’s likely that 16% of ObamaCare signups are illegal aliens.  Don’t expect them to say “thank you.”  For what it’s worth, or to rub salt in the wound, that only covers the federal exchange, it doesn’t cover the state run exchanges like Covered California, where they were going out of their way to recruit illegals.

Covered California, the state’s Obamacare exchange, is openly recruiting illegal immigrants to sign up for coverage. Breitbart reported:

The Covered California website includes a special page entitled: “No temas si eres indocumentado/a y quieres inscribir a tu familia en un seguro médico” (“Fear not if you are undocumented and want to enroll your family in health insurance”). The website goes on to explain that information shared with Obamacare cannot be shared with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It does not explicitly warn that illegal aliens are ineligible.

“According to the laws and implementing regulations,” the website says, “the information provided by individuals for coverage can not be used for purposes other than ensuring the efficient functioning of the insurance market ( Covered California) or administration of the program, or to verify certain eligibility determinations including verification of the immigration status of these people.”

Let’s not forget that Rep. Joe Wilson was almost tarred and feathered for shouting “You lie!!” to President Obama when he told a joint session of Congress that illegals would not be covered by ObamaCare.  Mr. President, you owe Rep. Wilson an apology.  We won’t hold our breath.  As a matter of fact, the President went out of his way on a town hall broadcast with Telemundo and Univision to assure illegals that no information on the ObamaCare application would be used to deport illegals.

Was this the President’s plan all along?  Well, given that he’s the “most” transparent President ever, we’ll never know for sure.  However, we’re pretty sure that we know the answer to that one.  You can guess.
