Susan “It was the video” Rice doubled down on on the Sunday shows when she said Bergdahl had served “with honor and with distinction.” That statement makes the video rant look downright truthful.
Not only did the White House KNOW Bergdahl deserted his post in time of war, the military started the investigation in 2010. Bergdahl deserted in 2009, the Army made a concerted effort to find him, disrupting the normal operations of his unit in the field and eventually costing the lives of five American soldiers in the search. It actually seems that the Private was under investigation prior to his desertion.
As early as 2010, the Pentagon had confirmed that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl had deserted his post in 2009, and even before he deserted he had been the subject of “a major classified file” by U.S. intelligence.
A 2010 investigation by the Pentagon found there was solid evidence that Bergdahl hadn’t lagged behind on patrol, as first reported, and had indeed walked from his post, AP reports. The Pentagon decided at that point to draw down search-and-rescue operations.
This is a Benghazi redux, only this one looks like – along with the Veterans Hospital mess – are likely to the Obama administration, and the Democrats who are desperate to cover this one up too, in the butt. We’ve got men who served in Bergdahl’s platoon very publicly calling for his prosecution. We’ve got the parents of at least one of the men killed trying to “rescue” Bergdahl calling for justice. We can guarantee you this will have a huge impact on morale if the White House calls off the prosecution of Berghdal.
it seems Bergdahl was causing trouble before he left his post. Fox News reports “that many within the intelligence community harbor serious outstanding concerns not only that Bergdahl may have been a deserter but that he may have been an active collaborator with the enemy.”
We’re pretty sure we’re on safe ground when we say that Obama hates the US military. We’re about to find out just how much he hates them.
