Tracy Morgan, spontaneously goofy comedian who is best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and Tina Fey’s “30 Rock” suffered life threatening injuries, and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
N.J. News details the story:
Comedian Tracy Morgan is in critical condition at a New Brunswick hospital following an early morning accident on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to the New Jersey State Police.
State police say the actor/comedian was injured in a crash involving six vehicles that left at least one person dead and several others, including Morgan, with serious injuries.
Killed was James McNair, 63, of Peekskill, N.Y., who was riding in a limo bus with Morgan, according to state police Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams.
Williams said the limo bus overturned on the Turnpike.
Morgan, 45, was flown by helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit, Williams said.
The accident occurred about 1 a.m. today in the northbound lanes near the Molly Pitcher Service Area. State police said two tractor trailers were involved in the crash.
Williams said no charges were filed against either driver but “there could be a little later today.”
