Baby Daddy Biology causes Father to flip-out

ROMEO, Mich. – The father of a high school freshman became “fired up” last week after he read a question in his daughter’s biology homework assignment that treated the issue of sexual promiscuity with a wink and a nod.

In an assignment about DNA, ninth-grade students in at least one Romeo High School biology class were given the following question:

“The sister of the mom above also had issues with finding out who the father of her baby was. She had the state take a blood test of potential fathers. Based on the information in this table, why was the baby taken away by the state after the test?”

As WDIV reporter Mara MacDonald put it, if that question “wasn’t tacky enough,” consider the list of potential fathers: “bartender,” “guy at the club,” “cabdriver,” or “flight attendant.”

Parent Larry Basaj was disgusted by the homework question.

“It’s teaching (students) that it’s OK to not know who (the baby’s father) is because you can have the state help you,” Basaj told WDIV. “And if they can’t help you, they are going to take your child away, and it’s not the way it is. I was beyond fired up last night.”

His daughter, Audri Basaj, told WDIV that the question “depicts women in a really uncomfortable light.”
