Tolerance and diversity only for non-Christians, non-Duck Dynasties

Willies-Father-Duck-Dynasty-624x352It would be impossible to remain on a network or non-religious cable-TV channel for more than five minutes without hearing or seeing program or advertising content that reason would dictate should be offensive to Christians, if only American Christians hadn’t evolved such thick, turn-the-other-cheek skin.

The name of Jesus is regularly bleeped on the idiot box, much as it is frowned upon inside the local Secular Church known as science class, if not the entire government school in which the liberal Democrats’ Holy of Holies is located. Funny how it’s the liberals that have faith in so much that can’t be shown by empirical evidence, such as global warming, but I digress.

One Christian, who also happens to have been the star of the most-watched cable-TV show of its kind, and who recently had the name of man for whom Christmas is celebrated bleeped, is Phil Robertson. That’s right, the long-bearded star of A&E’s Duck Dynasty has been fired for comparing female genitalia favorably against men’s poop shoots and making a slippery slope argument concerning the evolution of sexual behavior in the “modern” western world with reference to past such evolutions recorded in the Bible.

From A&E:

“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” A&E said in a statement. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

Ironically, your humble JoeForAmerica correspondent made a similar slippery slope analogy today in DeVine Law’s analysis of the polygamy case in Utah, but as of yet we haven’t received a pink slip for honoring animal lovers.

For the record, Robertson’s words:

“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” Robertson says in the January issue of the men’s magazine. “That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

During a discussion about repentance and God, Robertson is asked what he finds sinful.

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there,” he says. “Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

He goes on to paraphrase Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

Join me in an exercise in true tolerance, diversity, reason and logic and see how the LGBT community isn’t being “supported or championed.” Did Robertson at any time advocate that lesbians, gays, bisexuals or transgenders be thrown in jail, fined, not be hired to perform work, or be suspended from performing work for compensation? The answer is no. In fact, he confessed a partial identification with lesbians who partially define their lifestyle by their adoration of female genitalia.

Then he recites biblical admonishments against sinful homosexual, heterosexual and asexual behavior that would prevent one from inheriting the kingdom of God.

Had A&E promised the LGBT community such an inheritance? Is it tolerant of A&E to suspend Robertson for his diverse views or is any criticism of LGBT behavior, even if mentioned in the context of criticism of the behaviors associated with heterosexuals, the only “sin” demanding punishment in their cable-TV world?

Of course,  when liberal Democrats, most academics, Hollywood types and main stream media talking heads use the terms “tolerance” or “diversity”, they aren’t speaking the King’s, Queen’s or even an average American’s English. No, they are communicating to fellow members of the Politically Correct Police that will not abide traditional Judeo-Christian views, even from the lips of Jesus Christ, unless by a Pope Francis about forgiveness out of context so they can mock the rest of Scripture by inventing their own Jesus Christ Superstar that never told the harlot about to be stoned to go and sin no more.

Well, at least A&E will be spared using that bleeper so often with Robertson off the set and no longer reciting The Name. They will be relieved to have genitalia referred to only by LGBT-friendly non-Christians via the more safe, profanity versions. The E! video take:
