To be a Democrat, not just an Obama, is to lie.
The liberal Democrat junior Senator from New York, Kirsten Gillibrand, confirmed as much last week when she admitted that “we all knew, when asked about her president’s you-can-keep-your-policy-if-you-like-it-period promise. Yet, we don’t remember any Democrat with any last name refuting that claim before or after the 2012 election. Sadly, we also don’t remember the press, or the Romney-Ryan ticket for that matter, making news that they had followed then former-Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s advice to find out what was in the thousands of pages of Obamacare after it was hurriedly-passed, and discovered the limited grandfather clause.
But it turns out that the son of Stanley Ann Dunham Obama aka President Barack Hussein Obama lies not only about who can keep their plan under his signature Affordable Care Act; but also prevaricates when it comes to pre-ACA claims of who was not covered by insurance, including when such claims concern his own mother’s last illness:
Remember President Barack Obama’s mother? Though the airwaves currently echo with his vow “If you like your plan . . .” I keep remembering Obama’s account of his mother being denied coverage by her insurance company as she lay dying of cancer.
In a debate with Sen. John McCain, Obama said: “For my mother to die of cancer at the age of 53 and have to spend the last months of her life in the hospital room arguing with insurance companies because they’re saying that this may be a pre-existing condition and they don’t have to pay her treatment, there’s something fundamentally wrong about that.”
There would be, if it had been true. But when New York Times reporter Janny Scott researched the issue for her biography of the president’s mother, she discovered letters proving beyond doubt that Cigna never denied Stanley Ann Dunham coverage for her disease. The dispute was over a disability plan that would have paid some of her other expenses.
The White House did not deny Scott’s account, but shrugged it off as something that had happened long ago. Not so long that it couldn’t be milked one last time though, for a 2012 campaign film. In “The Road We’ve Traveled,” the message remained unchanged — a greedy insurance company had cut off Obama’s mother at her moment of maximum vulnerability, and it cost Dunham her life.
Obama lied about his mom’s insurance, got caught, shrugged, lied again, and the media winked.
The truth is not in them. Neither the Democrats nor their Media Branch. But even when they are caught on tape telling the truth, as when then Senator B. Hussein Obama promised skyrocketing energy prices and that he would bankrupt the coal industry; the media buries the story and labels as racist any Republican that dares demand that the corpse of truth be dug up for an autopsy.
The stimulus didn’t. Obamacare, doesn’t care if you like your doctor or pre-ACA insurance policy. Pass both and unemployment will never go over 8%. The oceans will recede and the Muslim Brotherhood are the good guys. And finally about those shovel-ready jobs? Did he mean that Obamacare only covers the shovel-ready?
Miss Bush yet? Me too.
