Iowa voters can play a major role in restoring our country from what the establishment in Washington have created by electing Joni Ernst in 2014. This Senate seat is open with Democrat Tom Harkin retiring. The Democrat establishment are going to try and get the four term congressman Rep. Braley elected to keep the Democrat majority in the US Senate. Please don’t support Joni just because she is a Republican. Support her because she is for doing what’s right instead of keeping a political party in the majority.
Iowa is a purple state with a Partisan Voter Index (PVI) of D+1. The voters have split their US Senators, one from each party, and their US House members, two from each party. Joni will need to spend a great deal of time traveling around eastern Iowa to win enough votes for victory.
One of Joni Ernst first and most important endorsements is from Iowa Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds. This endorsement message reminds us that before the 17th amendment the state government had someone representing their interests in Washington.
I wholeheartedly endorse Joni Ernst for United States Senate. As a mother, soldier and a proven conservative, Joni has the unique qualifications, diverse background and record of accomplishment required to take our shared Iowa values to Washington in an effort to get our great nation back on track, just as we have done here in Iowa. Joni does more than just talk about the policies and values she holds dear – she fights for them. Joni Ernst is the leader we need to help represent our interests in Washington.
It’s as simple as this: Some things are worth fighting for.
I believe that as a mother, a soldier, and a conservative, the values I hold dear, and have fought more than 20 years to protect, are being threatened. Threatened by the failed policies of this president, and by typical politicians in Washington who care more about reelection than doing what’s right.
As a mother, and grandmother, I want to ensure that my children and grandchildren inherit the same great nation, and values, that we inherited. And I think the failed policies of this president threaten that. Whether it’s policies like Obamacare, cap and trade or high taxes, the direction this president is taking our country is frightening enough for people of my generation. But it terrifies me to think about the America our children and grandchildren will inherit if we don’t do something to change course.
I believe government has become too big, too expensive, and too involved in our lives. I believe the free enterprise economy is the greatest job creation machine ever imagined, but only if government gets out of the way. That means low taxes, an end to job-killing regulations, and a small, but efficient government.
I am running for senate because as a soldier, a Lt. Colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard, I understand the importance of a strong national defense – both at home and abroad. Today I command the largest battalion in Iowa, made up of more than 1,200 of the finest men and women to ever put on our nation’s uniform. In 2003 I was honored to serve as a company commander during Operation Iraqi Freedom where my unit was tasked with running convoys through Kuwait and into southern Iraq. Our servicemen and women have fought hard for us, putting the interests of their nation and fellow soldiers ahead of their own safety and security, and we must fight equally as hard for them, and their families, when they return home.
I am running for senate to protect, and promote, the traditional conservative values and principles I was taught growing up in Southwest Iowa.
Values like the importance of innocent life. I believe that life begins at conception and must be protected. I also believe in traditional marriage, between one man and one woman. And I believe that the Second Amendment is not just a bunch of words on paper. We have the right to keep and bear arms. Period. I have an “A” rating from the NRA, hold an Iowa concealed carry permit, and I actually do carry, and I am Army qualified on the 9mm and M16.
These are conservative values that I not only believe in – they are values I have defended for over 20 years. I’m a proud conservative who put on the uniform to protect our Constitution and what it stands for. These are the things that made America the greatest nation in the history of mankind, and they are worth fighting for. And you can trust when I’m in the U.S. Senate, I will continue that fight for these Iowa values, and each of you, every single day.
I am Joni Ernst, a Republican running for United States Senate, and I would appreciate your support.
