World renowned pervert Anthony Weiner, who until this week was leading the in Democratic primary race for mayor of New York City, may have found he’s gone soft but he hasn’t noticed yet. I’m pretty sure his wife is going to point it out though.
As the disgraced congressman left his Park Avenue pad this morning, he told reporters that voters familiar with his record won’t care that he continued to send lewd pictures of himself to women.
“People who know me are still going to vote for me,” Weiner said, just before jumping into a car and motoring away.
How do “I” know he’s gone soft? And let me note for the record that I’ve never received a text message or Tweet from Weiner. Well, to answer my own question, here’s a few hints…
From the progressive safe harbor, New York Times Editorial Board, who’ve never found a wayward Democrat they couldn’t enable,
At some point, the full story of Anthony Weiner and his sexual relationships and texting habits will finally be told. In the meantime, the serially evasive Mr. Weiner should take his marital troubles and personal compulsions out of the public eye, away from cameras, off the Web and out of the race for mayor of New York City.
Breitbart highlights a couple of Democratic luminaries…
“I should think that he should do what he wants to do as it relates to his political decisions, “ said Rangel. “But I do think that the sophisticated people of the city of New York would cause him to make a decision before September 10th–before the primary–but that, again, is his decision to stay in as long as he wants and as long as people would allow him to stay in.”
Other New York Democrats on the hill are beginning to feel Weiner’s behavior is a “distraction” to the Party’s agenda, as Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY) described it, while Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) called on Weiner to resign on Wednesday to seek medical help.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi chimed in as well on Thursday, telling NBC’s Luke Russert that Weiner’s conduct had been “reprehensible.”
If you need details about what might be causing the rats to run from the sinking ship, this post from The Daily Caller has as close to a “Safe for Work” explanation as possible. Shoe fetish? Ick.
Oh, and with respect to Weiner’s memory, The Daily Caller has the goods on that one as well.
Weiner acknowledged in a press conference Tuesday that he sent sexually provocative text messages and photographs to young women following his 2011 resignation from Congress for similar behavior.
“There are a few. I don’t have a specific number for you,” Weiner told reporters Thursday when asked how many women he sexted with. “It is not dozens and dozens. It is six to ten, I suppose.”
“I don’t believe I had any more than three,” Weiner said when asked how many sexual conversations he had with women following his resignation.
“I don’t believe…” I’m pretty sure that will be Weiner’s epitaph.
And finally, with respect to his wife (and being honest, I have no respect FOR his wife), here’s a snip from their joint news conference…
Though admittedly nervous, Huma Abedin not only stood next to her husband as he acknowledged new embarrassing sexual transgressions, she also took the microphone to declare: “I have forgiven him, I believe in him.”
Anthony, that’s the marital equivalent of a President saying “I have full confidence in [name of person soon to be under the bus]. Honestly Anthony, given Huma’s connection to the Muslim Brotherhood, you’re going to be a lucky Jew if all she does is divorce you, make it so you can never see your (I’m guessing here) son and take every nickel you ever make if you’re able to find somebody dumb enough to hire you.
Anthony, you’re toast dude. Toast.
