It is being leaked that the Toomey-Manchin proposal on gun control will contain a provision allowing doctors to place people receiving mental health on the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) without the patients knowledge.
First of all, why does this information have to be “leaked”? Why isn’t this bill being openly debated so the people, through their representatives can have input? What happened to transparency – even on the Republican’s side?
If it is true, regarding the mental health portion of the Toomey-Manchin bill, Republicans and Democrats alike are enabling the Soviet-style act of linking health care to the restriction of liberty. Imagine when you visited a doctor five years ago for postpartum depression, they put you on a list of people too crazy to be trusted with a gun? This is right out of the Marxist playbook, my friend. They’ve already linked Veterans, people who are pro-life, and Tea Party activists who are pro-Constitution as being potential terrorist threats; and now, just visiting a therapist can put you on the wrong list, anonymously.
Further, if you are someone thinking about getting help for mental or psychological issues, and you believed that doing so could potentially restrict your rights under The Constitution, would it make you think twice? I know I would. The idea that our Representatives would even be considering a plan to put doctors in charge of such a decision is borderline science fiction. But here we are, facing oppression once again because the Obama Administration didn’t let yet another crisis go to waste.
Government and their allies in the media cannot be trusted with information. If you need proof, remember it was very recently that information on gun owners were put on an interactive Google map in New York by a local paper. The data included the identities and locations of registered handgun owners, including retired police. Because the paper was anti-second amendment, they put at risk everyone who needed a gun for their protection, and created a menu for burglars not wishing to encounter homeowners with handguns, by exposing the homes that were less likely to have weapons.
Unbelievable, but true. And now our Government wants you on a secret list because you visited a doctor?
First of all, voting to amend any one of the ten Bill of Rights is lawless. There is a mechanism to amend the Constitution and it involves the States and the people. Yet, our Congress is attempting to do just that – restrict your right to bear arms.
The Second Amendment does not force you to buy a gun, nor does it compel you to have one – it merely protects your GOD given RIGHT to bear arms. Congress is lawlessly voting to amend that protection. It’s treason for our leaders to not uphold the Constitution and in fact, it’s the primary job of the Senate to do just that.
Congress by law is not allowed to amend the Constitution, but they’re doing it anyway. A lot of folks will go along with this, not believing the true endgame is to ban all guns and effectively get rid of the Second Amendment. Why is this not clear? Joe Biden joked the other day about the Administration “flying in with black helicopters to take all your guns,” but isn’t this just another step in that direction? You really don’t believe government employees won’t show up on your doorstep?
Why don’t you ask Shawn Moore, a man involved in gun training who posted a Facebook photo of his son holding a .22? Without a search warrant, New Jersey’s Department of Youth and Family Services demanded entry into Moore’s home and access to all of his firearms. The government showed up to his doorstep and threatened to take away his kids and his guns. How would you like to come home from the doctor and find they were on your doorstep?
If we do not draw the line in the sand here, your right to own a gun to protect your family, your property and your right to live free from tyranny is in grave jeopardy. If we do not stand firm against this lawless and treasonous Congress, it’s only a matter of time before your rights are taken away completely.
