‘NOBODY!’… What Happens When The Only Justice is Your Own Justice?

0

Created by “The West Wing” writer, Felicia Willson, and veteran actor, Josh Daugherty, “NOBODY” is a rich thematic story exploring the question “What is justice?”

What happens when your 6-year-old daughter is raped and murdered? How do you struggle with the pain? What happens when there is no justice? Is justice the best therapy?

Felicia and Josh explore these emotions, and the resulting actions in the new series that they have created. They have a team of stellar artists ready, willing, and able to bring this compelling project to the screen.

They are putting together seed money, just $10,000, of which they have $9,000. Once they get past this point, they will go to the big boys to raise the financing, as Josh says, “Land the big fish” so that they can finish this project.

They have a team of stellar artists ready, willing, and able to bring this compelling project to the screen. This is our first step to jump start the process as we pursue large scale investors to fund our entire budget and begin pre-production.

Their daughter raped and murdered… His guilt growing… Her sanity slipping… Therapist Tom Campbell and his media mogul wife Annabelle are primed to unravel.

Created by The West Wing writer, Felicia Willson, and veteran actor, Josh Daugherty, NOBODY is a rich thematic story of a man and woman united by faith and commitment, bound by total devotion and true love, yet tortured by a deep sorrow. Devout Catholics,

Tom and Annabelle passionately observe the tenets of their faith, but in the throws of anguish are also plagued  with the questions we all have at one time or another: Where is God? Where is the justice in life? Why doesn’t someone DO something?

In the vein of Breaking Bad and Bloodline, NOBODY is the story of a good man doing bad things for what he deems the right reasons. It presents the idea that justice is the best therapy. Then poses the question “What is justice?”

Tom Campbell is a counselor for sexual abuse victims and, consumed by grief, guilt, and fury, convinces himself that when the law, society, and God seem absent, then violent means are the only way to attain justice. It’s a peeling back of the rampant abuse that exists, the toll it takes on families, and a man’s attempt to rectify it.

However, killing abusers will never rid the world of the evil and, ultimately, Tom’s fury is about the rape and murder of his six-year- old daughter, Grace. He’s trying to assuage his guilt, seek justice for his daughter, and fill the hole in his soul. It will not work.

The first season will present two answers to the question of “what is justice?” One: the pursuit of justice via the legal system as a mother seeks the prosecution of her son’s abuser. The second is Tom single-handedly assuming the roles of judge, jury, and, literally, executioner. NOBODY will explore the consequences and efficacy of both avenues. It’s a visceral, emotional, and common response to want violent vengeance on sexual predators, especially on those abusing children, but is it effective? Is it just?
