You know what’s pretty amazing right? It’s that you don’t hear too much from the liberal politicians where they stand on the issue of the NFL players and their kneeling protest. It’s probably because they don’t want to turn away the black voters, especially if they are up for re-election. They also don’t want to look anti-American or anti-military by supporting the kneelers.
Hey, I think we can all agree that the NFL players have the right to protest. That’s not the issue. The issue is this protest is DURING a football game and DURING the national anthem. Where do the politicians who served our country stand on this issue?
Malik Obama, the half-brother of former President Barack Obama, posed a terrific question about Sen. John McCain early Tuesday morning, essentially questioning what exactly it is that makes the Arizona senator such a so-called “hero.”
“If @SenJohnMcCain is such a hero why is he so silent when people disrespect the flag?” he wrote on Twitter.
If @SenJohnMcCain is such a hero why is he so silent when people disrespect the flag?
Aside from McCain’s praiseworthy military service, which includes serving in the Vietnam War and being held captive by the North Vietnamese for nearly six years, the guy seems much more like a back-stabbing villain than a hero.
Consider that every single time the senator has been afforded an opportunity this year to rise up as a champion of conservatism, he’s stubbornly rebuked it.
Because of McCain’s intransigence, for instance, the Graham-Cassidy Obama “repeal” bill proposed by Sens. Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham is pretty much dead in the water.
Leftists like comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who spent nearly all of last week blasting the “repeal” bill on his late-night show — despite the fact he “has no clue what he’s talking about,” as noted by Ben Domenech of The Federalist — couldn’t be happier:
Thank you @SenJohnMcCain for being a hero again and again and now AGAIN
When know-nothing Hollywood elitists consider you a “hero,” it’s usually a bad sign. But if only this were an anomaly in McCain’s career versus the norm.
Two months ago the senator single-handedly killed a “skinny” Obamacare repeal bill, despite him having repeatedly promised his constituents he would “repeal and replace Obamacare as soon as possible.”
I guess he never meant any of it.

Moreover, McCain has regularly attacked President Donald Trump over everything from his justified pardon of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio to his allegations that the Obama administration had wiretapped his phones.
In May he even went so far as to draw a false equivalence between the infamous Watergate investigation that brought down former President Richard Nixon, and the bogus ongoing investigation into whether the president colluded with the Russians to affect the 2016 presidential election.
“I think it’s reaching a point of where it’s of Watergate size and scale and a couple of other scandals that you and I have seen,” he said at the time. “It’s the centipede that the shoe continues to drop. And every couple of days there’s a new aspect of this really unhappy situation.”
Way to really side with the team, McCain …
And God forbid he take a stand for his fellow veterans by joining the president in condemning the punks in the NFL who’ve been kneeling during the national anthem.
Senator McCain continues to show his true colors. Just because he has an (R) after his name, doesn’t mean he always stands with Conservatives or Republicans, or even the President. It’s hard to know some days who his real constitutents are. It usually depends which way the wind’s blowing.
I think Malik Obama has a good question. If Senator McCain is a hero, why hasn’t he said anything about the NFL players kneeling during the anthem? If he’s a hero, why hasn’t McCain made a statement or stood up for respecting our flag, our nation, and our military?
It’s one thing for McCain to say they have the ‘right to protest’. It’s another for McCain to stand up and say he does or doesn’t support their protest during the national anthem.
Personally, if NFL players want to protest anything – they should do it on their OWN time, NOT while they are employed. What say you Sen. McCain?
Do you see nurses protesting while they are waiting on patients on floors during their shifts at hospitals? Do you see plumbers protesting while they are working to fix your leaky pipes? Do you see ANY other professionals protesting DURING their WORK or while on the job? A job that includes the NFL players being paid handsomely to perform their duties while on a national televised show on a Sunday afternoon, Thursday or Monday evening.
While our national anthem is playing, EVERYONE should be celebrating our nation and those who have defended our nation to give us the freedoms that makes our nation so great in the first place!
Wouldn’t you agree, Sen. McCain?
So to the pompous and overpaid NFL players – take your protest somewhere else! Stop disrespecting our national anthem and our veterans and those who serve in our military.
Because if the NFL players continue to kneel during the national anthem, Americans will continue to TUNE YOU OUT! It’s just that simple!
Wouldn’t you say so, Sen. McCain?
In addition, the next time the NFL players/owners want a new stadium, Americans are going to think twice about giving them tax-exempt municipal bonds to fund stadiums where they think they should kneel at during our national anthem.
Wouldn’t you agree, Sen. McCain?
