Denzel Washington Hears Actors Complain, Sets Them Straight With 5 Conservative Words

0

Denzel Washington is a Hollywood producer, actor and director.  He has received at least 3 Golden Globe awards and a Tony Award. He has also received 2 Academy Awards, one for Best Supporting Actor in the film Glory. He’s probably best known recently for his role in Training Day.

He’s not only successful, but he isn’t afraid to tell Hollywood liberals or elitists the truth. When asked about his job, acting he clarifies the difference between his ‘gift’ and a real job….a soldier going off to war.

Have a child go to war is arguably one of the toughest experiences a parent could ever go through, and Washington deserves praise for reminding celebrities they aren’t somehow America’s heroes just for being famous.

As pointed out by Informed Folks, Hollywood actors seem to assume their jobs are the most important, noteworthy and difficult.

During a Dec. 2016 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Washington reminded celebrities about some real difficulties in life.

“People talk about the difficulty of making a movie and I’m like, ‘send your son to Iraq, that’s difficult,’” Washington said.

“It’s just a movie. It’s like — relax. I don’t play that precious nonsense. Your son got shot in the face. That’s difficult,” Washington continued. “Making a movie is a luxury. It’s a gift. It’s an opportunity, and most importantly it’s a gift.”

“Don’t get it twisted. It’s just a movie — it ain’t that big a deal,” he concluded.

Washington’s bold answer came in response to being asked about the first job he ever had and the worst job he ever had.

The acclaimed actor said he worked as a garbageman and a postman before he was able to find success in the movie industry as an actor.

Watch the interview below. The relevant portion begins at 4:05.

Washington is known for his hard hitting honesty.

During a press event in June for his film “Fences,” Washington was berated by a reporter who demanded Washington reveal who he supported in the 2016 presidential election.

“None of your business!” Washington said, visibly annoyed with the reporter’s aggressiveness.

The reporter then asked Washington if he believed race relations have improved in America under former President Barack Obama’s administration.

“Race relationships have to do with race relationships,” Washington said. “You’re white, or whatever you are, and I’m black, or whatever I am — we’re standing here talking now. That’s how we get things done.”

Washington delivered a brutal one-liner to the reporter: “You can’t legislate love.”

In contrast to many in Hollywood, Washington doesn’t try to pretend that he has the most difficult job in the world. Getting paid millions to act is, as Washington pointed out, a gift.

Nothing is harder than sending a young son/daughter off to war. Nothing can compare to the risk they take every day fighting to defend our freedom.

Fortunately, there are some Hollywood actors who remind the liberals and set them straight. Acting is an opportunity. Acting is a gift. Going to war is a job. Going to war is about risking your life defending honor and freedom for other Americans.  There is no greater or more difficult job.
