Natalee Holloway disappeared while on her senior trip to Aruba in 2005 and after countless searches her body was never found.
Now Natalee’s dad is speaking out and is revealing that there are huge new details coming out in this case. Dave Holloway made an appearance on the “Today” show this week to announce that human remains have been found.
It turns out that Dave has been working with T.J. Ward, the family’s longtime private investigator, and an informant for the last eighteen months. A huge break in the case has been found because they have located human remains. At this point, they are not sharing if this is Natalee Holloway or not, though.

This informant has a friend who was friends with Joran van der Sloot. Joran has been the prime suspect in this case from the very beginning.
Joran has never been convicted in this case, but is now in prison in Peru for another murder. This informant took them to a home, and they found human remains. They were tested, and it turned out they were positive for human remains, but they don’t know who they belong to. It was explained that they were taken to several different places by this informant.
On May 30, 2005, 18-year-old Natalee Holloway vanished on the island of Aruba while on a high school graduation trip. The 18-year-old honor student and dancer had finished high school just days before the trip.
Her case resulted in an international media frenzy. Her father, Dave Holloway has never stopped searching for answers.
Joran van der Sloot, the primary suspect in the case, stated in a 2007 video made after Aruban prosecutors announced that the case be closed, that Holloway died the morning she went missing and that his friend got rid of her body.
Then 17, he was arrested on June 5, 2005 and considered the prime suspect in her murder. He was later released in September of that year due to lack of evidence. Her later admitted on a syndicated TV show A Current Affair after he was released from jail that he’d been with Natalee the night she disappeared, but that he’d left her alone and alive on a beach.
He later denied that confession, and instead claimed that he sold Holloway into slavery.
In an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Van der Sloot also said he extorted money from Holloway’s parents for the location of their daughter’s body, which was never revealed.
He claimed he did it because her parents “have been making [his]life tough for five years.”
On May 30, 2010, five years to the day of Natalee’s disappearance, 21-year-old business student Stephany Flores was murdered in Joran van der Sloot’s hotel in Peru. He was arrested in Chile and brought back to Peru, where he was charged with Flores’ murder. He was sentenced to 28 years in prison.
Van der Sloot married a Peruvian woman who sold goods inside the jail in a prison ceremony. She was 7 months pregnant at the time of their wedding. On September 28, 2014, his wife gave birth to a baby girl.
There have been several arrests and confessions made in the past, but nobody has ever been charged in connection with Natalee’s disappearance.
