Legislation for a clean repeal of Obamacare has already passed both chambers of Congress and FINALLY Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has decided to follow through.
McConnell is now saying he will support passing a clean repeal of Obamacare now and a replacement of Obamacare later. The clean repeal was passed in 2015, with a majority in the House and in the Senate voting for it.
DUH! It is about time!
President Trump called Monday for congressional Republicans to drop their failed efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare in one fell swoop. He pressed instead to pass a clean repeal of the failed health care overhaul from the previous administration now and push through a bipartisan replacement plan later.
Republicans should just REPEAL failing ObamaCare now & work on a new Healthcare Plan that will start from a clean slate. Dems will join in!

Trump’s tweet on Monday evening came after two more Senate Republicans, Mike Lee and Jerry Moran, joined Sens. Rand Paul and Susan Collins in opposition.

Mitch McConnell had no other choice but to jump on the President’s plan.

It’s hard to imagine the clean repeal of Obamacare–the 2015 bill–would fail in the House or the Senate, given that most of the GOP members in both chambers have already voted for it.
The problem with Obamacare was not Obama. It was the federal government sticking it’s nose where it did not belong in the first place.
I stand where I always have…including 8 years ago.
Open state lines. Then walk away. If you need to help the needy… help them and don’t disrupt everyone else’s healthcare to do it.
Might as well leave Obamacare because the federal government cannot micromanage and no matter how ‘wonderful’ the program, it will cost more than stated and create more problems than it fixes. At least the Dems own Obamacare.
How repeal turned into repeal and replace is beyond me. Stupid.
If they were to let ME write a replacement, I would not vote for my own bill! The problem lies in the Federal Government being involved in the first place. The most wonderful plan ever would end up in chaos. Until we get the feds out of healthcare, there will always be a mess.
The Republicans were only setting themselves up for a mess down the line. ObamaCare gone and TrumpCare in. Then the Republicans own the problem. I guarantee, there would be problems.
The Federal Government Cannot Micromanage!
From here, it is unclear as of yet what the timeline will be. But Republicans in Congress wasted nearly seven months of the Trump administration, Thursday will mark seven months exactly since Trump’s inauguration, fiddling around with repeal and replace at the same time.
House Speaker Paul Ryan similarly failed multiple times to pass his own version of the Senate bill for months, and it was only after he left Washington for Europe and Hollywood that Republican rank-and-file House members from the House Freedom Caucus and the Tuesday Group were able, outside the purview of Ryan, negotiate their own fix to pass the bill through the House.
Repeal it and leave it alone. Period!
