A ruthless female gang-member belonging to the violent street gang MS-13 recited to her murder victim she would ‘see her in hell’ as her gruesome death was filmed, an FBI agent testified on Monday.
The perturbing account was given in a court in Virginia, where 17-year-old Jose Cerrato is on trial for masterminding the murder of 15-year-old Damaris A. Reyes Rivas in Fairfax County near Washington, DC.
At least 10 members of MS-13 have since been arrested following the gruesome killing of Damaris Reyes Rivas, who was ordered by top ranked members back in El Salvador, who believe she was the reason her boyfriend was targeted and murdered, much in the same way.
Law enforcement said that 18 members in total are suspects in both cases of the gruesome murder, which happened in Fairfax County in early January.
The person behind the recording, 17-year-old Jose Cerrato, was supposedly the the one that came up with the plan on how they would carry out the revenge murder of Damaris, who the FBI testified was all too happy to provide video evidence of his commitment to the gang by filming the murder.
It is still confusing whether the footage was ever sent back to the top ranked leaders in El Salvador.
Damaris’ demise was centered on Cerrato’s belief that she was ultimately responsible for her boyfriend’s killing, luring him into the hands of MS-13 gang members, supposedly upset over the claim the he was a leading member of the group.
The body of 21-year-old Christian Sosa Rivas was later found along the Potomac River in Dumfries. FBI Special Agent Fernando Uribe on Monday described the gang’s ruthless internal disciplinary tactics, testifying that ‘If someone dies in a clique as a result of a fellow member, the person is killed in retaliation.’
The presiding judge at the Fairfax County juvenile court overseeing Cerrato’s case said Monday that the youth would face murder, abduction and gang participation charges as an adult.
Uribe made it clear that Cerrato was close friends with Sosa Rivas and planned out how they would get Damaris to admit on video how she had played a part in trapping Sosa Rivas to the location where he was killed.
After luring Damaris to a location in Lake Accotink Park, she was violently interrogated, beaten and made to take off her close in order to ‘feel the cold that Christian did,’ Uribe testified.
Uribe later said that the video recording that Cerrato took shows 17-year-old Venus Romero Iraheta, who, conveniently also had a sexual relationship with Sosa Rivas, pounced on Damaris and attacked her, saying she would see her in hell before taking a knife and stabbing her in the chest 13 times.
Another MS-13 gang member than finished her Damaris off by stabbing her in neck with a wooden stake.
