Senator Franken Attacks Trump In His Achilles Heel…His Family!

0

Donald Trump is nothing if not a loyal man. His family is the first to attest to that fact. Which is why his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner have vital roles within his inner circle, as well as, administration. It also makes them easy targets for enemies of the President on Capitol Hill. Senator Al Franken is the latest in a line of progressive liberals who are attacking the President’s family over baseless accusations.

Senator Franken appeared on Tuesday morning on ‘CBS This Morning’ where he spoke about Jared Kushner and his role of senior advisor in the White House as well as his security clearance status. The Senator said the following,

We should look at that. This is a pretty bad breach. These guys, this, the Administration, they’re not acting like people who have nothing to hide. We have to see where the facts lead us, of course. But we don’t know yet?”

He also said,

I think it is. I mean, you’re supposed to — in getting his security clearance, you’re supposed to list those, and then there’s this peculiar one where he is trying to set up a thing within the Russian communications system so that our own intelligence couldn’t be part of it, which is very unusual. We’re going to be looking at this. You know, this might be — come out to,when, you know, what did the president know and when did his son-in-law tell him?”

Franken told Anderson Cooper of CNN in a separate interview,

Normally a back channel isn’t something where you go to the other country’s communication systems so your own intelligence can’t hear it. That’s what it sounds like Kushner thought he was doing. It’s also very suspicious that he did not report this meeting. This is the kind of meeting you’d remember.”

Franken pointed to Kushner not disclosing his Russian contacts during the process of his obtaining security clearance as questionable. He went even further when he argued that it was criminal and against the law. Insinuating that Kushner should be prosecuted. This past Friday a reporter with the Washington Post alleged that Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Kushner sought to establish a backchannel of communications between the Kremlin and their officials and the White House administration.

This report also maintained that the communications were intercepted from December 1 to December 2 at Trump Tower shortly after the election was complete. The communications reportedly included an offer from Kushner to create these side channels. Unnamed officials were cited as people would be part of this unknown channel.

However, the administration has indicated this is nothing out of the ordinary. Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to the President, cited comments from Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly and National Security Advisor Gen. H.R. McMaster, where she argued these backchannels are a completely normal course of business.

Due to the controversy surrounding the alleged ties between Russian offficials and the Trump administration their are several investigations underway. Those include investigations within the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as the House of Representatives and Senate Oversight and Government Reform as well as Intelligence Committees. But despite that fact liberals are still calling for a bipartisan and independent investigation into these ties. Apparently four different investigations still aren’t enough.

As White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said, the Russia argument is nothing more than a narrative concocted by the mainstream liberal medial. If the President puts Russian salad dressing on his dinner then their is a Russian connection. Same goes for his representatives and agents such as Kushner. People like Franken are looking for any and all excuses to besmirch the Trump family name and accusing them of having Russian connections certainly isn’t new.

They need something more original to accuse them of.
