It is a common tactic when something is controversial, to lay back, let things die down, and then rebrand. That is what has been done with the Ground Zero Mosque.
In September of 2015, Pamella Gellar famously said of the abhorrent project: “The infamous Ground Zero Mosque project is officially dead. We won. We the People.”
That did not last long!
“We are still building an Islamic museum and sanctuary,” says the shady developer behind the Ground Zero Mosque scheme, Sharif El-Gamal.
He thinks that if he calls it a ‘sanctuary’, no one will notice.
An Islamic sanctuary is a mosque.
“An Islamic museum ‘is just as much of an insult,’ Pamela Geller wrote in an email. ‘It will be like having a museum touting the glories of the Japanese Empire at Pearl Harbor.’”
Geller went on to explain to the New York Times:
“The 16-story mosque that El-Gamal initially planned to build there has not been built. Our efforts in showing what an insult it was to the American people and to the victims of 9/11, and how many Muslims worldwide would inevitably view it as a triumphal mosque built on the site of a jihad attack, defeated it. Now El-Gamal plans an Islamic Museum, which is just as much of an insult; it will be like having a Museum touting the glories of the Japanese Empire at Pearl Harbor. A genuine Islamic Museum that detailed the 1,400-year history of jihad warfare, cultural annihilation, land appropriation and enslavement would be appropriate at that location, but El-Gamal’s museum is certain to be a whitewash of the doctrine and history of jihad and a paean to imaginary Muslim contributions to various important inventions and achievements.”
NYC takes up over 300 sq miles, and the only place this dude can find to put that Mosque is at Ground Zero? B-A-L-O-G-N-A~!
The Ground Zero Mosque project was a middle finger to the American people. There has never been a mosque of reconciliation and healing built on the site of a jihadi attack. Ever.
It is, on the other hand, an Islamic pattern… to build triumphal mosques on the cherished sites of conquered lands. History is riddled with triumphal mosques built on the sites of jihad attacks or appropriated from other religions: the Dome of the Rock and the al-Aqsa Mosque on the site of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, and innumerable mosques built on the sites of Hindu temples that were demolished by Muslims all attest to that.
The importance of the defeat of the Ground Zero
Sanctuary Mosque cannot be overstated. That mosque planted on sacred ground in a building destroyed in the 9/11 jihad attack would be Mecca on the Hudson, a magnet to jihadis across the world. It would supplanted the Twin Towers as the symbol of Islamic conquest and war.
It has to be defeated again. Gellar said at the time that the Ground Zero Mosque could come up again. She was right. And we will fight again!
“Here is a valuable lesson that non-Muslims must learn from Islamic supremacists. They never stop. They never give up, no matter how total a defeat. We, too, must never stop fighting for freedom. If they attempt this mosquestrosity again, we will fight and defeat it again. We will never surrender.” – Pamela Gellar
