ISIS Attacks Egyptian Christian Churches During Easter Week Services. Dozens Dead

0

This Sunday morning ISIS claimed the lives of many during a Palm Sunday service in Egypt. All the victims were Christians. And the terrorist organization has officially claimed responsibility. This is the beginning of the Holy Week for Christians that leads into Easter. Easter is meant to celebrate the days when Jesus came to Jerusalem to be crucified. It has been reported that forty three have been dead and over one hundred have been injured.

One of the explosions happened in the northern city of Tanta where it took place at Saint George’s Church. This explosion killed twenty seven innocent church goers and wounded seventy eight others. Authorities were able to figure out the explosion device was planted under the seat in the main prayer hall. The pictures being circulated around the internet show the attacks and explosion itself ruined the inside of the churches.

Another attack took place shortly after at the Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria. That suicide bomb attack killed sixteen and injured forty one others. These were reported by two state news outlets. Egyptian State Media reported that Pope Tawardos II was inside when the blast occurred but thankfully he was not injured.

ISIS wrote the following after the attack,

The Crusaders and their tails from the apostates must be aware that the bill between us and them is very large and they will be paying it like a river of blood from their sons, if God willing.”

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi issued the following statement after the attacks that rocked his country,

The attack will not undermine the resolve and true will of the Egyptian people to counter the forces of evil, but will only harden their determination to move forward on their trajectory to realize security, stability and comprehensive development.”

Due to the attacks three days of national mourning and a national state of emergency were called for. It will continue for three months. ISIS attacks have increased on Christians in Egypt as of late. Christians have been murdered in droves near Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. This will make this upcoming week and Easter services an especially dangerous time. It will make Christians attending services a target.

The former administrations lack of willingness to combat ISIS and radical Islamic terrorism with the power and might necessary led to these types of attacks. Passive side line foreign policy never works. Thankfully we finally have a President willing to stand by the American principles of justice, freedom, and unity and President Trump might just be the one to take ISIS out.

ISIS has no loyalty. They are almost everyones enemy. Their is no better a time than now to ban together to exterminate them off the face of the planet. Whether they target Christians, Jews, Muslims, it does not matter. They will never stop until they kill everyone. They must be stopped. Despite the relationship between Egypt and the United States this tragedy could be the kick in the but Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries need to get in in the war against ISIS.
