Canadian actor Matthew Perry admitted on an appearance of Jimmy Kimmel that he went to school and beat up Prime Minister Justin Trudeau when he was in elementary school! Hilarious!
“My friend Chris Murrey who was also in the fifth grade reminded me that we actually beat up Justin Trudeau,” Perry said to a laughing Kimmel.
“I’m not bragging about this. This was terrible. I was a stupid kid.”, Perry continued.
Watch the exchange:
Asked what initiated the brawl, Perry said it was out of “pure jealousy”. Trudeau excelled at sport that Perry and his friend Murray weren’t as good at. Boys will be boys! Although Perry insists his behavior was “terrible”, he joked he thinks the beating set the wheels in motion for Justin to grow up wanting to be prime minister.
“I think [Trudeau] said, ‘I’m going to rise above this and I’m going to become prime minister.'”
Perry hasn’t been in contact with Trudeau since their early school days and has no intention to reach out to him. He stated that he is still “ashamed” of his actions. Asked if they are in touch, he said: “No, I feel ashamed. I don’t want to think about it.”
Well now that this is becoming viral news, a reunion might just be in order!
Trudeau himself is not innocent of altercations.
Last summer he was forced to apologize after elbowing a female opposition MP in the chest during an angry fracas on the floor of Canada’s parliament.
The incident was captured on a live television feed. Trudeau made what appeared to be elbow contact with Ruth Brosseau, a member of the New Democrat Party. It happened after he raced across the floor of the House of Commons to confront a group of opposition MPs. He believed that they were delaying a vote on a government bill.
Trudeau then grabbed the arm of Gordon Brown, the chief whip of the opposition, while telling the others to “get the **** out of the way”. Footage then shows his elbow striking Brosseau, standing behind him, who is seen wincing in pain.
