Each president is known for one major screw-up in their presidency. Barack Obama has Obamacare, George W. Bush invaded Iraq. We all know what former President Bill Clinton is infamous for and why no one should take ethical advice from him.
Last week Clinton was the keynote speaker at the Brookings Institution honoring Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. In his remarks to the attendees, he says,
“We have to find a way to bring simple, personal decency and trust back to our politics.” Could this be more laughable? Does he think anyone is really going to take his remarks seriously?
It’s amazing the crowd didn’t erupt in laughter or at least snicker under their breaths because a plea for decency and trust coming from any of the Clinton family is down right hilarious. It makes you wonder if Bill Clinton actually comprehends a word he says or if he’s living in an alternate universe where what you say and do have no significance.
Looking back at Bill’s track record, it would seem words have never meant much to him — except for how he can twist them to abuse and mislead the American people in his long, and successful career. The former president is many things, but one thing is for sure — he’s not the poster boy for decency or trust.
For a refresher on Clintons’ blot on the White House, Bill had an affair with intern Monica Lewinsky and then lied about it — under oath. He has also been accused of sexual assault from three other woman: Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey and Jennifer Flowers.
The comments Bill Clinton said during his speech represent the character of the Clintons — both Bill and Hillary. The Clintons have no problem telling the public what to do, but would never hold themselves to the same standards. Between the two of them, they have more scandals than most people can keep up with.
Bill and Hillary, please do all of America a huge favor and retire already.
