Trey Gowdy Attacks The 9th Circuit Court! Watch His Comments Here!

Prominent Republican politician Representative Trey Gowdy who infamously chaired the House Select Committee investigating the Benghazi, Libya attacks is now attacking the 9th Circuit Court over the decision to shoot down the Presidents immigration ban.

Trey Gowdy wrote an 1,800-plus word letter that documented Elijah Cumming's obstruction of the Benghazi committee’s investigation through “abject obstruction” and “serial” leaks to the media.

Gowdy currently chairs the House Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations. He issued a statement on Thursday about the entire ordeal surrounding the Presidents executive order and the ensuing consequences and halting of it. He said the following,

“No one familiar with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals should be surprised at today’s ruling. The 9th Circuit has a well-earned reputation for being presumptively reversible. Unlike the district court order, there is at least a court opinion which can be evaluated.”

His final comments were the real zinger,

“For those, like Alexander Hamilton, who once or now wondered if the Judicial Branch would be too weak. Wonder no more.”

Many in the media and within Washington, D.C. are hypothesizing that this will likely go all the way to the Supreme Court. Federal judge James Robart of Seattle, Washington overruled Trump’s ban as unconstitutional. The White House and Justice Department have already filed responses back.

Trump himself is notorious for playing dirty and being willing to go to any lengths to achieve his goal. Whether that is perceived as a positive or a negative is a matter of perception. Thus, this judicial fight will likely extend for a long period of time.

While Democrats have unanimously denounced the ban, the majority of Republicans have either supported it or remained silent on the President’s actions. But Gowdy is a notorious Republican who is never willing to back down from a fight or speak exactly what is on his mind so it makes perfect sense why he inserted his opinion in this issue.
