For the first time in a long time, agents at the border patrol are going to be allowed to do their jobs and protect America. It’s been a long eight years with an administration that cared more about illegal alien future Democrat voters than they did the safety of the American people.
Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration that is clearing the way for construction on the wall on our southern border will make America and Americans safer. The administration is going to crack down on sanctuary cities or, in the case of California, sanctuary states and interior enforcement of immigration laws is going to become a high priority once again.
Hector Garza is the President of the National Border Patrol Council and is also a border patrol agent. Here’s a man that knows what he’s talking about when he says President Trump’s wall “will be effective.”
With respect to the wall, the best part of that Executive Order is the Donald Trump set aside all environmental regulations so that the far left open borders crowd won’t be able to stop construction over environmental issues.
Another positive impact of the Executive Order is increasing interior enforcement. That means that employers are likely to be required to have an E-Verify form for every employee to prove they have a legal right to work in the U.S. You can expect the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to scream to high heaven about this. They will be whining that the Trump administration is forcing employers to be border agents. That’s a lie.
Employers are currently required to have an I-9 form on file for every employee, and an E-Verify form doesn’t take any more administrative time than the I-9.
If the Congress wants to pass “comprehensive immigration reform,” a good start would be to make hiring or renting housing to illegal aliens a felony punishable by a $20,000 fine per illegal and one month in jail per illegal. It should not be able to be plea bargained to a misdemeanor.
Since industries like hospitality and construction are two of the main places illegal aliens work, this simple law would shut down job opportunities and would also shut down their ability to find housing. The fact that employing or renting to illegals is a felony would mean that a restaurant owner would not be able to get a liquor license and contractors would lose their construction licenses because they are felons. Realtors who manage rental properties that rent to illegals would also lose the real estate license because of the felony.
Guess what happens when illegal aliens can’t find housing or work? That’s right, the cost of deporting them drops to zero.
