BuzzFeed News, a far left fake news outlet, released an unsourced story about Donald Trump in Russia that was picked up by CNN. The story was outrageous and salacious and attacked Mr. Trump’s character. It’s worth noting that John McCain pushed the same story to his contacts in the intelligence community before the election.
The story was circulated before the election but it was so outrageous that even the New York Times wouldn’t print it. BuzzFeed waited until after the election to break the story, 35 pages of unsourced claims and accusations that Donald Trump said they could not verify.
In keeping with their standards, “no fake news that will hurt Donald Trump is too stupid to broadcast,” CNN’s senior White House correspondent, Jim Acosta, started shouting at President-elect Trump at his news conference.
Trump gave Acosta a snapshot of what life is going to be like as a Washington reporter. Acosta was screaming at him that he was “attacking our news organization” and demanded a question.
“Not you. No, I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news.”
CNN released a statement that said, “CNN’s decision to publish carefully sourced reporting about the operations of our government is vastly different than BuzzFeed’s decision to publish unsubstantiated memos.”
The problem with that statement is that CNN referenced those unsubstantiated memos in their reporting in order to smear President-elect Donald Trump. They rationalized their lies with this gem.
“We made it clear that we were not publishing any of the details of the 35 page document because we have not corroborated the reports’ allegations. Given that members of the Trump transition team have so vocally criticized our reporting, we encourage them to identify, specifically, what they believe to be inaccurate.”
In fact, the whole mess of BuzzFeed’s allegations were inaccurate. No, that’s wrong. They weren’t “inaccurate,” they were outright lies.
A central part of the charges had one of Donald Trump’s attorneys flying to Czechoslovakia and to Russia to negotiate deals with the Russians during the campaign. The attorney in question produced his passport, which had no travel stamps to either country, ever, and a witness confirmed that the attorney was with his son at the USC campus discussing a baseball scholarship with the USC athletic department.
We can expect a flood of fake news from the Democratic operatives with bylines. And Jim Acosta of CNN is nothing but a Democratic operative with a byline.
