I’m old enough to remember Jim Brown playing football. I actually watched and enjoyed NFL football when Jim Brown played.
He was an amazing football player and, today, he is an amazing man.
With all the flap about Donald Trump and Democrats whining about his “illegitimate” win in November over Hillary Clinton, Jim Brown once again takes it down the field.
Here’s Jim speaking with Stuart Varney.
I think that does a good job of summing up what an American sounds like.
It sounds like Jim Brown is going to get together with some people like him, and see what they can do in the inner cities. They can certainly do more and do better than the federal government has done in the last eight years. Actually that’s not fair, we shouldn’t confine it to last eight years, the federal government hasn’t done anything but destroy the inner cities and inner-city residents for the last 60 years.
Jim Brown is the founder of an organization called Amer-I-Can. His organization is focused on improving life in the inner-city which, Brown says, is a result of the “failure in personal development and the lack of self-esteem.” He wants to work with his organization to raise people up.
Brown met with Donald Trump in December and it sounds like he’s switching his political alliance from Hillary to Donald.
“We talked about making America a better country. We talked about the poor people. We talked about African-American people. We talked about education, getting rid of violence. Dealing with economic development realistically and how to work together.”
When asked what brought Brown to Trump Tower, he replied, “Well, I’ll tell you. The president of the United States brought me. My president. He won it fair and square. He’s going to be our man for the next four years at least, probably eight. He’s amenable to listening to people who did not vote for him.”
Then Brown added, in a statement that will probably end up getting him accused of being an “Uncle Tom,” “I fell in love with him [Trump] because he really talks about helping African-Americans, black people, and that’s why I’m here.”
Mr. Brown, I wish you the best in your efforts. I look forward to you working with Donald Trump to ‘Make America Great Again’.
