Members of NAACP are occupying Sen. Jeff Sessions’ Alabama offices until he either withdraws for U.S. Attorney General or until they are arrested.
They are very unhappy with Trump nominating him I take it!
In the immortal words of Ronald Reagan, “There they go again!”.
Roll Call reported earlier before the wannabe sit-in actually started:
The NAACP will stage protests across Alabama on Tuesday against Sen. Jeff Sessions’ nomination as attorney general for President-elect Donald Trump.
The protests will take place at Sessions’ district offices in Huntsville, Mobile, Dothan, Birmingham, and Montgomery.
Cornell William Brooks, president and CEO of the organization, previously called Sessions “among the worst possible nominees to serve amidst some of the worst possible times for civil rights in recent memory.”
“As a matter of conscience and conviction, we can neither be mute nor mumble our opposition to Senator Jefferson Beauregard Sessions becoming Attorney General of the United States,” Brooks said. “Senator Sessions has callously ignored the reality of voter suppression but zealously prosecuted innocent civil rights leaders on trumped-up charges of voter fraud. As an opponent of the vote, he can’t be trusted to be the chief law enforcement officer for voting rights.”
Senator Jeff Sessions is a good man. Again we find the liberals spouting the false narrative and acting like petulant children.
I expect this liberal craziness to last for a long time. They are furious that they have lost power.
Donald Trump has his idiosyncrasies, but he will be a good friend to the black community. He knows what it really takes to help elevate them out of the poverty, that ironically in Alabama, that a portion of that community finds itself in.
Alabama is home to the 7th congressional district, which has been under extreme Democrat control for as long as it’s been a district. It is the poorest district in the nation.
Both Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions would like to see that situation cease.
The NAACP is being spiteful and bigoted, to the detriment of the constituents they claim to represent. Shame on them.
