When was the last time you saw President Barack Obama pick up the phone and encourage a company to keep jobs in the U.S.? The answer to that is…Never! Barack Obama has created two kinds of jobs in the U.S.: full-time government jobs that suck the life out of taxpayers and the U.S. economy, and part-time jobs for American workers so businesses can avoid the regulations that the Obama administration is choking the nation with.
First, President-elect Donald Trump and soon to be, Vice-President Mike Pence made a trip to Pence’ home state of Indiana and personally intervened with Carrier. In one day, they convinced Carrier to keep over 1,000 jobs that had been destined for Mexico in Indiana. In addition Carrier committed to spending $50 billion in Indiana and hiring more people to sell American jobs.
Barack Obama’s only action related to Carrier was to shrug his shoulders when they initially announced those jobs were going to Mexico.
Ford announced that a plant that they had expected to close in Kentucky was going to remain open and those jobs were going to stay in Kentucky and not go to Mexico.
Obama had the same reaction to Ford’s announcement that they were moving those jobs to Mexico. He did nothing.
This week the Chief Executive Officer of IBM announced that, over the next four years, IBM would invest $1 billion on employee training and development and hire 25,000 American workers.
No comment from Obama.
If you’ll recall in Obama’s first term he repeatedly promised that his administration was going to be focused on jobs. It looks like that has finally happened, and it only took the election of Donald Trump to make that happen. Of course, the reason those jobs are staying in America were being created in America, is because President-elect Donald Trump understands business and is going to work to create a business climate where it makes sense to create jobs.
Barack Obama is a community organizer and the only thing he understands about jobs is that he never had one. And he considers that a plus.
President-elect Donald Trump is going to work to “Make America Great Again” and it’s going to be a big job, because for eight years the nation has been focused on “community organizing” not job creation. It’s beginning to look like those days are over.
