Megyn Kelly Jumping to CNN?

0

Looks like Megyn Kelly, current anchor of “The Kelly File” on the Fox News Channel (FNC) may be jumping to greener fields. Kelly has been with Fox News since 2004, when she was a Washington-based correspondent. It’s no suprise that this past year, she has certainly had her ups and downs with Roger Ailes.

Kelly’s contract is up in July 2017 and she certainly won’t come cheap. She has also been on a bumpy road with other Fox News hosts since her allegations of sexual harassment against Roger Ailes this past year; allegations that she waited 10 years to talk about. Ailes, of course, resigned this past year. If Megyn does leave, look for Fox New’s Bill O’Reilly to have some new competition at the “Clinton Network News”.

29-megyn-kelly-w529-h352H/T The Drudge Report:

CNN President Jeff Zucker is actively perusing FOX star Megyn Kelly to anchor 8 or 9 PM on his network, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. And Kelly might just say, YES!

“He is moving the Himalayan mountains to get her,” a top insider explains. “But they are tripped up on money. He simply can’t pay her the $20 million a year FOX has on the table.”

Kelly’s contract is up in July 2017.

For Kelly, a move to Columbus Circle would represent a fresh break from a turbulent 18 months at FOXNEWS. And the chance to go directly against arch-nemesis Bill O’Reilly will be hard to resist.

Meanwhile, the highs and lows of the Trump and Roger Ailes dramas have taken a toll.

The anchor is “despised” by fellow on-air talent. And FOX insiders describe how it’s gotten only worse since the release of her book, which is expected to end the holidays under 500,000 total copies sold. [Megyn refused to promote her book on both O’Reilly and Hannity, foreshadowing a move.]

Zucker at CNN would compensate her salary with heavy promotion and synergy across all TIME WARNER outlets.

So there you have it!
It would be no surprise to me to see her leave. Whether the allegations are true or not, it’s probably time for Megyn to move on. She’s had a great career at Fox News, but this past year her colleagues have not been on good terms with her since her allegations of Ailes.
I don’t know about you, but if it were me and most of my colleagues were on the opposite side of my principles and views, I’d probably leave too. Why work where you don’t feel appreciated or your colleagues are against you? Not sure if it’s jealousy or a substantiated case against Megyn. She’s certainly done well for herself and currently has the second highest cable rated news program on Fox, next to “The O’Reilly Factor”.  However, the Fox News Channel (FNC) also has been home to 9 of the 10 most-watched cable news programs.
It’d be interested to see if Megyn Kelly could top Bill O’Reilly in the cable news ratings if she were on CNN at the same time. What do you think? Will she jump to the Clinton News Network? And if so, will she also turn up as a new character in a Disney/Time Warner movie? Time will tell.
