If you want to know just how desperate Democrats are these days, you could just ask Michelle Obama.
To put things in perspective, the Republican Party had 17 candidates in the primary election this year. Every one of them, even [gag]Jeb! had to be considered credible. The Republican candidates all had credible records in politics and most of them were in their 40s or early 50s.
Democrats, on the other hand, nominated a 69-year-old hack and the only people mentioned as possible primary opponents were Bernie Sanders – who was in his 70s – and their faux Native American candidate Elizabeth Warren, who will be 71 in 2020.
Democrats have no bench. They have no one with national name recognition and they’re not likely to come up with anyone in the next four years.
In comes Michelle Obama. Well, she did exactly come in, it’s more like she was pushed in. When it became obvious late in the evening on November 8 that the Clinton Crime Family was being put out to pasture by American voters Michelle’s name began to trend on Twitter.
Michelle Obama has never held elective office, and her major accomplishment as First Lady was making an enemy out of every school kid in America with her school lunch program. But then, a lack of qualifications hasn’t kept Democrats from nominating people like John Kerry, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton for the presidency.
It looks like the rumors are just that.
David Axelrod, whose very close to the presidential family, said that Mrs. Obama “is not someone who loves politics at all.” He added, “Michelle is looking forward to leaving the White House. I honestly think she’s gonna be very happy to get her life back when this is over and reseed a little bit from the public.”
We can only hope. And we certainly hope she takes her husband with her.
