Sweet Cakes by Melissa was a well-known and well-loved bakery in Northwestern Oregon. The owners, Aaron and Melissa Klein, are Christians and work to live out their faith.
Their life changed in 2013 when two lesbians came into their bakery to order a “wedding cake.” The clients believe in the biblical standard of “one-man, one woman” and they refused the order. Sweet Cakes by Melissa is far from the only bakery in the area, the lesbians knew the clients were Christians and targeted them.
The case went to court and since the People’s Republic of Oregon voted to make “gay marriage” legal and their courts are loaded with far left judges the clients lost their battle. The state even went so far as to find them $135,000 for refusing to bake the cake.
They’ve been labeled as bigots by the media and the battle finally took its toll. Aaron and Melissa closed their business because they were tired of being bullied by the left.
They are represented by the First Liberty Institute, a law firm that handles religious liberty cases. Their attorney, Hiram Sasser, said, “The Kleins close their business months ago and simply now updated their Facebook page to reflect that. We are continuing our appeal and look forward to achieving justice for them and for all people of faith who may find themselves in similar circumstances in the future.”
Erin and Melissa Klein did not go easily… Will you allow Hillary to be elected and maybe all Christianity will be illegal?
