The NFL has proven again it is ran by morons when Colin Kaepernick wears socks representing cops as pigs and they are silent, but they fine players for wearing a 9/11 tribute!
Various players in the NFL wore commemorative 9/11 cleats on Sunday, and the NFL has decided to fine them all!
Shameful on so many levels but the NYPD is stepping up to the plate and filling in for the common sense the NFL lacks. They are going to pay the fines! Public response to the news of these fines has created a backlash towards the NFL, specifically commissioner Rodger Goodell.
The players are donating the special cleats to raise money for charities, but that does not faze the men behind the green curtain that run the NFL. They seem to be a part of Colin Kaepernick’s Hate America Crowd instead! I think they underestimate the Football fanbase!
It is obviously dandy to protest the flag and our law enforcement, but don’t dare publicly acknowledge the most horrific terrorist attack on US soil!
The Tribunist reports on one of the many cases:
It involves Tennesse Titan linebacker, Avery Williamson. Williamson was told by the NFL that if he wears any cleats other than the team approved ones, he will be fined to the maximum amount. The Port Authority Police Benevolent Association wasn’t having any of that. The Police Benevolent Association and another police union say they will pay Williamson’s fines.
“The PAPD is the police department that has always patrolled the World Trade Center complex. On September 11, 2001, the PAPD lost 37 police officers at the World Trade Center, the largest, single loss ever suffered by a police department in the history of American law enforcement,” the union said in a statement. “We read, with understandable interest, your piece on Avery Williamson and the NFL’s stance on Avery honoring the September 11th victims. We, along with the New Jersey State Police Benevolent Association, are offering to pay any reasonable fine levied by the NFL if Avery chooses to wear his 9/11 cleats.”
Did you know that the NFL is a non-profit organization, specifically a 501(c)(6) organization?
The league exists with the stated purpose to advance and promote the game of football, and is composed of an executive board made up of 31 owners.
There must be some non-profit law being broken here, yes?
