Former US Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell brought tears to those who watched his emotional speech at the RNC on Monday night. Luttrell called for unity when he took a swat at the Black Lives Matter group by saying “the only way we survive this is we all have to matter”. Who better to hear those words from than the “Lone Survivor” himself, US Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell.

Ex-Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell made an impassioned plea for unity in his address to the Republican National Convention audience in Cleveland on Monday.

Seeming to address the recent mass shootings and terrorist attacks in the United States, he warned that the ‘enemy’ was already inside America.

‘The only way we survive this is together,’ he told the crowd. ‘In order for any life to matter, we all have to matter.’

He went on to say that soldiers returning from war should not have to face the same atrocities in their backyard.

‘We got to make sure that the hell the veterans return from is not the hell [they]come home to, OK?’ said Luttrell. ‘That’s what was promised, and that’s what’s deserved.’

The veteran, who was visibly moved during his speech, called for citizens to step up and fight for their country.

Here’s his RNC speech:

‘You war is here,’ he said, addressing the next generation of military men and women, ‘You don’t have to go searching for it.’

‘Your people are afraid. ‘Who among you will love something more than yourself? Who among you will step up and take the fight to the enemy, because it’s here.’

‘I challenge of all you to fight for this country and each and every one of us,’ he said to cheers from the audience at the Quicken Loans arena.

‘America is the light,’ he added. “She will always be worth fighting for!”

US Navy Seals Marcus Luttrell exemplifies that more than anyone lately.

He was the only one of four SEALs to survive the fierce battle with hundreds of Taliban in northeastern Afghanistan in June 2005 during Operation Red Wing.

Despite being shot twice, breaking his back and suffering serious injuries to his left leg following a grenade blast, Luttrell was able to crawl into a crevasse.

His heroic story provided the inspiration for the film Lone Survivor (2013), in which Mark Wahlberg starred as Luttrell.

The survivor received the Navy Cross and Purple Heart for his actions, and returned to active duty in Iraq in 2006 after he had recovered from his injuries.

He only retired when his knee was later shattered in action, making him unable to continue his military career.

Last night, he ended his moving speech at the RNC with a plea to the American people.

‘Every one of us has to step up in some way,’ Luttrell said. ‘We need our leaders to lead by example … and show the American public that each and every life underneath the flag should be family and treated accordingly.’

He added that he would be forever thankful that he was granted the ‘greatest honor’ to fight for his country and its people.

Marcus-Luttrell

US Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell is America. He lives it. He breathes it. He’s certainly shown he will die for it. THAT is what freedom is about! THAT is what we are fighting for – EVERY day! And EVERY day, ALL Lives Matter!

If we wish to survive this together…in order for life to matter…we ALL matter. ALL LIVES MATTER!

God Bless US Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell! God Bless all our troops who fight every day for our freedom! And God Bless America!
