Stephen Henderson, Pulitzer Prize winning editorial page editor of the Detroit Free Press wants to toss school-choice advocates into the “Straits of Mackinac” in a sack!
“It is every bit deserving of an old-school retributive response. A sack. An animal. A lake.” he writes!
How abhorrent! He needs to be fired and his Pulitzer Prize thrown in the “Straits of Mackinac” in a sack!
Stephen begins his piece:
“We really ought to round up the lawmakers who took money to protect and perpetuate the failing charter-school experiment in Detroit, sew them into burlap sacks with rabid animals, and toss them into the Straits of Mackinac.
That’s harsh. Maybe.
But isn’t that what the Romans or Greeks or some other early practitioners of democracy used to do with solicitous and unprincipled public officials?”
INSANITY! The socialist liberal far left has become fully unhinged! I just called Gannett Co., Inc., the owners of the Detroit Free Press and expressed my outrage. 703-854-6000 Feel free to do the same!
Why the harsh words you may ask? The lawmakers voted for legislation that would give parents more choices.
Michigan’s public schools are failing. Detroit’s public schools are not only failing academically but nearly insolvent! Stephen wants to proceed with the FAILING status quo!
Where is the liberal outrage? Liberals used to be the defenders of free speech!
While school choice is not the full solution for our nation’s failing public school system, it is a step! The concept is simple. Competition. The more competition, the higher the quality of all schools.
Stephen, let me ‘splain it! These children belong to the parents! The PARENTS get to decide! You do not get to decide and you do NOT get to threaten legislators with murder! MORON!
Stephen calls school-choice a “thoroughly debunked theory”. Well I hate to burst his bubble, but where school choice is implemented, it has worked. It always works.
You Stephen, are an idiot! But I would still not call to throw you in the “Straits of Mackinac” in a sack!
