$25 Million to Fund Illegal Immigrants’ Legal Bills and College in California

Because clearly there aren’t enough college graduates in California or around the nation having trouble finding employment. We really should shell out millions of taxpayer dollars to fund college scholarships for illegal aliens and to pay any legal bills that come up from the fact that they’re here illegally.

Remember Janet Napolitano? She was Obama’s former Secretary of Homeland Security – the department everyone knows is the best Washington DC has to offer? Well, now that her boondoggle there is all up and doing whatever they do, Ms. Napolitano is uniquely qualified to steer taxpayer dollars out of the hands of productive, legal citizens and into the pockets of illegals.

Only in California? Hardly. This is sweeping the nation, my friends. But will this work against Democrats in the long run? Methinks that’s possible… I’ll explain below:

Hat tip Campus Reform:

University of California system president Janet Napolitano announced Wednesday that she will earmark $25.2 million to fund loan programs for undocumented students across the system’s 10 campuses over the next three years.

“We are committed to continuing a path forward for undocumented students at the University of California,” Napolitano said in a press release. “This funding will further strengthen the university’s undocumented student initiative, and help ensure that these students receive the support and resources they need to succeed.”

The $8.4 million annual allocation will fund three separate programs for illegal immigrant students in the UC system, including a “DREAM Loan Program” that will receive $5 million per year for three years.

“The program makes student loans available to undocumented students, who are not eligible for federal aid,” the press release notes, explaining that “students will repay their loans back into the DREAM Loan fund.”

Additionally, $2.5 million per year will go towards undergraduate and graduate fellowships for “undocumented” students, as well as other financial support such as funds for textbooks.

I wonder if this includes male illegals? Janet has some man-problems in her past, according to Forbes:

A 21-page federal complaint filed in May made headlines this week alleging that Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano (FORBES No. 15 Most Powerful Woman in the World) has been discriminating against male employees of the department in favor of female cronies.

According to the NY Daily News, “blistering federal discrimination suit accuses agency honcho Janet Napolitano of turning the department into a female-run ‘frat house’ where male staffers were banished to the bathrooms and routinely humiliated.”

Most specifically, the suit, filed by James T. Hayes, a special agent of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (A DHS office) in New York City, alleges that under Secretary Napolitano’s direction female staffers were routinely promoted over males. Additionally, female officials under the DHS umbrella are accused of fostering caustic and “sexually offensive” workplaces for men.

Brian P. Hale, the Director of Public Affairs for ICE, the DHS department hardest-hit by these claims, responded to a request for comment, saying: “ICE doesn’t comment on unfounded claims and will respond to Mr. Hayes’ allegations as appropriate through the judicial system.”

UC’s “Undocumented Legal Services Center” will also receive a $900,000 budget increase, likely to help fund legal battles for students seeking citizenship. The legal services department in the UC system provides “undocumented” students with legal aid “free of charge,” meaning taxpayer dollars are funding illegal immigrants’ legal bills.

Well isn’t that special?

But if these mostly illiterate people (even in their own country and language) become educated – won’t they begin voting Republican? The smarter anyone becomes, the more likely they are to know that freedom, Capitalism, laws, borders and liberty is where it’s at.

Sounds Republican to me. Conservative, anyway..
