The NYT masthead says, “All the news that’s fit to print.” We’ve had fun with that before, but they’ve really stepped in it this time.
Here’s the lede on a story about David Bowie.
The problem? Well, other than the fact that the story ran the day AFTER Bowie died, nothing.
“It’s a good time to be David Bowie…” Ummhmm. Maybe not. He was certainly a great performer but I have no idea if he was a Christian. If not, it’s probably not such a good time to be David Bowie.
“He just celebrated his 69th birthday…” Somehow that line seems a tad off kilter.
The Times has corrected the online version, but the print version will be out there forever. Nice job guys.
