One way not to interrupt church service on Sunday in Detroit: with a brick.
About 15 minutes after service got underway at the City of God church near Lahser, a man with a brick went after the church’s pastor. He never made it past the vestibule, however, before the pastor pulled out a semiautomatic pistol and shot the man multiple times.
The assailant, a brick-wielding man, died a little while later at the hospital. Apparently he’d made threats against the pastor before. The pastor has been placed in custody pending an investigation.
Even church is apparently a violent place to be in Detroit; in July 2014, an off-duty cop working as a security guard shot an ax-wielding man outside the city’s Citadel of Praise Church as well.
Of course, just consider what would have happened to the pastor and his parishioners if the US had UK-style gun bans like Obama has been touting lately… Gun-free zones don’t really stand up well to brick and ax attacks.
