Earlier this month a jogger in Dallas, Texas was murdered by former Texas A&M wide receiver Thomas Johnson.
Johnson admitted the murder and it was just a random act.
The jogger, Dave Stevens, was just out for a run and ended up in the wrong place where Johnson slashed him to death in a random act of rage.
Unfortunately Stevens death is just the beginning of this tragic story, it impacted his wife deeply.
Patti Stevens was distraught from her husband’s senseless death.
“Dave was the love of my life and I’m lost without him,” she said through tears Oct. 19. “People need to know that this was a wonderful person going out and doing what he loved to do.”
Patti Stevens said then that she had trouble with sleeping, eating and even thinking clearly after her husband’s death.
They met at Michigan State at their graduation and she said she liked him immediately. They had been married for 25 years. Patti committed suicide early this week.
It’s unfortunate that Johnson, who is described as mentally ill, can’t be charged with her death as well as her husband’s.
Johnson is another in a long line of murderers who are on the street because of the ACLU’s insistence that the mentally ill be “mainstreamed.”
