I’m shocked. A moderate Muslim, a U.S. Air Force vet who converted to Islam when he was stationed in Turkey, was held out to be the poster boy for Islamophobia by MSNBC and the usual suspects on the far left just a couple of years ago.
Saadiq Long lives in Qatar and discovered he was on the U.S. no-fly list in 2013 when he tried to come back to the U.S. to visit his sick mother. CAIR, an Islamic public relations and terrorist funding organization, jumped to his aid and got him temporarily removed from the no-fly list so he could visit mom. A decent thing for them to do for this all American boy who saw the light and converted to Islam.
CAIR complained that Long was harassed in the U.S. by the FBI who had him under surveillance while he was visiting his mom and then was put back on the no-fly list so he couldn’t go back to his home in Qatar.
Chris Hayes of MSNBC, and a host of far left nutcases picked up Long’s story and used it to whine about Islamophobia and the no-fly list. Here’s Hayes talking to Long and his attorney about this outrage.
It turns out that the folks who make up the no-fly list were, at least in this case, right on the money.
U.S. and Turkish officials confirmed Long’s arrest to PJ Media, saying that he was arrested along with eight others operating along the Turkish-Syrian border. So far, no U.S. media outlet has reported on his arrest.
MSNBC hasn’t commented on Long’s arrest. CAIR is remaining silent as well. As for us, we certainly wish Mr. Long a very long stay enjoying the hospitality of a Turkish prison. Hopefully CAIR will send his attorney to represent him in Turkey.
