The major media is ready and willing to roll out a story about just about any mass shooting. Except they’re really not. They’re very selective about publicizing shootings. If a reporter and her cameraman are shot while on the air that’s a major national story. Well, it was until it turned out that the shooter was a black Democrat who was a nutcase.
The story we’re writing about today involved shooting 15 people and was barely even covered by local news.
But did you know 15 people have been shot in Chicago, including 4 teenagers and a senior citizen since Friday? Of course not. It was in Chicago – in a neighborhood where there used to be a $3 million drug operation. The Chicago Tribune says more than 40 people were charged in connection with the heroin ring last June.
So, the cops took down a major drug ring. You’d think that would be cause for a celebration. You’d be wrong.
When the drug dealers had left, that’s when everything started getting worse on this block,” said Mariah Monae, 16, who didn’t want to give her last name. “But when they was here, they was protecting us. They ain’t let none of that shooting stuff happen.”
“This block is just ridiculous,” she said. “That’s why I stay in the house.”
Before the heroin operation was stopped, “They used to be right here, taking up the whole block,” said Mariah Monae, spinning around to point at the intersections of Grenshaw Street and Central Park. “Ain’t nothing happen over here, everything was cool.”
“Violence was bad for the dealers’ business, they said. Mariah Monae had even seen the sellers break up big groups of people fighting.
Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are going to have a huge demonstration this weekend demanding that Grenshaw Street be made safe for law abiding residents. Oh. They’re not? Oh.
Certainly #BlackLivesMatters will be on the streets. Oh. They’re afraid they’ll get shot. And not by Chicago police.
The Obama Department of Racial Justice will be sending fifty or a hundred civil rights lawyers to Central Park to look for racism. Oh, they’re busy at a conference in Aspen this weekend.
In fact, nobody who claims to care about the poor gives a rip if 150 kids get shot next weekend in Chicago because it doesn’t give them any media leverage to demand more gun control or to demand more money for Democrats who run these cities into the ground.
If you don’t further a Democrat agenda item you don’t matter. Die quietly please.
