Bombshell Findings! Public School Kids Becoming Increasingly Stressed at an Alarming Rate!

Our schools are in a disaster and we seem to not be turning around the Titanic.

Greg Toppo at USA TODAY reports that: “The message is clear: our high schoolers are none too happy, at least when they’re in school.

The new findings come from research on a huge student sample: 22,000 high school students from across the USA.

"I just cannot justify making students cry anymore. They cry with frustration as they are asked to attempt tasks well out of their zone of proximal development." Retiring school teacher Dr Wendy Bradshaw.

When asked how they felt during the school day, USA high school students consistently made it clear: “tired,” “stressed” and “bored.”

The question was simple. They asked them how they felt in school and gave room for three responses. 8 out of the top 10 responses were negative.

Did I mention that the findings came from research on a huge student sample of 22,000 high school students”

The findings are backed up by findings over the last couple of decades as we have seen the results on our children as our schools collapse under bureaucracy and political correctness.

It is no wonder. The standardized tests, long hours of home work,  removal of recess, micromanaged curriculum, along with the rigid physical fitness PE devoid of any fun and games have destroyed the teachers ability to teach and the atmosphere in our schools and classrooms.

Another recent study found the primary causes of children’s stress, according to parents, was related to tests, classroom and homework. 400 parents were surveyed.

The classroom has significantly changed. Teachers spend an abundance of time teaching students to be prepared to take the standardized testing. Many important subjects are being set aside and the focus is on the tests.

It isn’t working. Texas, known for keeping federal mandates at an arms length, has seen a catastrophic drop in SAT test scores when they recently hit a 22 year low.

At least in Texas parents can send cupcakes to school again. Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller declared amnesty…on cupcakes.

The teachers, and we have the best in the world, are no longer able to just teach.

We are losing many of our best teachers as well as stressing out our kids.

Two resignations from two superior teachers in two days.

Ann Marie Corgill, a 2015 National Teacher of the Year finalist and 2014-2015 Alabama Teacher of the Year, as well as Dr. Wendy Bradshaw, Florida’s Polk County elementary school teacher, both resigned because of the madness in the education system due to micro-managing practices.

" I just cannot justify making students cry anymore. They cry with frustration..." Says retiring teacher Dr. Wendy Bradshaw.

” I just cannot justify making students cry anymore. They cry with frustration…” Says retiring teacher Dr. Wendy Bradshaw.

Dr. Bradshaw gave an ominous warning on Facebook as she explains why she is leaving the teaching profession:

Like many other teachers across the nation, I have become more and more disturbed by the misguided reforms taking place which are robbing my students of a developmentally appropriate education.

To Dr. Bradshaw, it’s personal; “I just cannot justify making students cry anymore. They cry with frustration as they are asked to attempt tasks well out of their zone of proximal development.

She explains that we have left decades of practices that had been tried and true for reform that disregards all we know about childhood development and education.

Our education system has been shredded. All the while we are dealing with boys being allowed in girl’s restrooms and showers, teachers pulling down kids pants to check for poop, and sanctioned cussing in the classroom.

We have students being forced to read porn, students being suspended for using their imagination and playing pretend, pre-schoolers being hauled away from school in handcuffs for a tantrum.

Getting in trouble for "pretending" in school was the third and strangest suspension for Aiden Steward, 9, pictured on the right with a sibling, at the Texas school district. (Photo courtesy of the child's father, Jason Steward)

There is no wonder that the movement to home school is growing with such vigor.

A recent report revealed that in 2012, 1.77 million students were being home schooled, a growth of 62 percent between 2003 and 2012.

It’s long past time that we took back our schools. They are in a chaotic freefall.

You can find many of those home-schooled kids on social media creating incredible productions.

From “how to videos” to “music videos” and “movie shorts”, they are proving the old adage that home-schooled students have no social skills is a bunch of bunk!

See this excellent and hilarious production done by two home school students and brothers, Trevor & Tyler, along with their friend Samuel! Clean, creative, funny, and high quality.

Two friends, one HUGE problem.
