Ted Cruz Takes on Islamic Terrorism in a Powerful Ad

But first, a little history for our younger readers. In the 1980s Democrats were in denial about the Russian threat. Reagan ran an ad about the “Bear in the Woods,” the clear reference at the time was to the Russian Bear. And, of course, the Democrats who couldn’t see the bear or thought he was tame.

Which brings us to Ted Cruz and his scorpion. The text “Scorpion” is a line-by-line homage to the Reagan spot, evoking the threat of the Middle East terrorism rather than the Cold War-era of Soviet Union, which the Reagan ad symbolized.

I like the cowboy boots at the end. Now let’s see if Ted Cruz can get some traction.
