Want to know why we have all time record numbers of people on food stamps? Or why Medicaid is going to bankrupt many US states? Simple answer, in two words. Illegal immigration.
The Center for Immigration Studies just released a report, based on 2012 Census data, that shows 62% of households headed by an illegal alien are on welfare. 49% of households headed by a legal immigrant are on welfare as well. That contrasts with about 30% of native born American households who use welfare.
There are two conclusions that can be drawn here.
First, Donald Trump is absolutely right. Mexico, and other countries south of the US border, are sending us their criminal and welfare class.
Second, our whole immigration system really does need a comprehensive overhaul, just not the “comprehensive reform” favored by Barack Obama and his allies like John McCain, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and the Republican Establishment in general.
Immigration should be viewed through a lens of allowing people to come to the US who can benefit America, and people who want to be Americans. Not “Mexican-Americans” or “Syrian-Americans” or any other kind of hyphenated Americans.
It’s time to shut down ALL immigration – including and especially the 10,000 potential Muslim terrorists Obama wants to bring here – until we can redefine our immigration system.
We not only need to stop allowing no-skilled, uneducated aliens to sneak into the country with the expectation of breeding anchor-babies and freeloading off the productive sectors of our society.
We need to structure the law so that hiring an illegal, or renting housing to them, is a felony with a very large fine. We won’t have to “round up” illegals. When they discover they can’t work or get housing, they’ll leave.
It’s long past time to rewrite the H1B visa requirements that give major Obama donors in Silicon Valley the opportunity to import legal immigrants with tech skills at half the price – or less – of US technical workers. This is crony capitalism at it’s worst and it’s supported by all Democrats and the Republican Establishment.
Bottom line, if we want to reduce the cost and the horrible cultural impact of welfare, it’s time to take illegal – and legal – immigration seriously.
