Here’s the most interesting headline I’ve seen in a while. It’s related to Jeb! and his popularity in Florida where he was supposed to walk all over everybody.
If the story is supposed to be about the Republican race in Florida you’d think the headline would be about Trump trampling everybody. Or if it’s about Jeb!’s failure to connect in his home state, why doesn’t it feature Jeb!? Strange headline.
Here’s the real story.
Rubio is in second place in the poll with 19.2 percent, while Bush is in third place with 11.3 percent. New York businessmen and Palm Beach resort owner Donald Trump is in first with 31.5 percent. The poll has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 5.2 percentage points.
So Trump is leading the pack with 32%, Rubio is second with 19%, and Jeb! is dragging behind at 11% with $100 million in the bank from the Republican Establishment.
Both Jeb! and Rubio have huge name recognition in Florida have run statewide campaigns, and Jeb! was an extremely popular Governor. Looks like not so much anymore.
My eyebrows always go way up when a poll has a margin-of-error of 5%, that means not a whole lot of people were polled, but this one is meaningful because all three of the top three are well outside the MOE. Trump leads Rubio by 13% and Jeb! by 21%, and Rubio is up 8% on Jeb!.
It’s looking more and more like Jeb! is …
Will he be the next to drop out? Or will he hang in there and embarrass his mom?
The bigger question is what will he do with the $100 million? If he wants to support a candidate who can win he should consider our perennial favorite…
The dead drunk white cat. Lord knows he’d be better than any Democrat and better than any of the Establishment Republicans in the field.
In the meantime we’re just enjoying watching Jeb! tank.
