While We Were Distracted by the Pope’s Visit – Obama Set Bin Laden’s Bodyguard Free

Never let a distraction go to waste. That’s the next obvious step from Rahm Emanuel’s famous line, “Never let a crisis go to waste” and President Obama made sure to make the most of it last week when he let Bin Laden’s bodyguard go free from GITMO.

Word has it that Obama is going to simply empty out GITMO on his own accord, Congress and the National Security apparatus be damned. We expect he’ll get away with it without so much as a whine. The major media either won’t report the releases or they’ll be back page stories for a day.

As the Pope’s plane landed outside D.C., the White House announced the release. All but Fox ignored it or didn’t notice it. It is, however, an extremely important story because Barack Obama has succeeded in completely politicizing the Department of Defense.

The Department of Defense of Women Who Want to be Men certainly won’t object. The National Security agencies did, but who cares.

Six national security agencies warned against releasing an extremely dangerous terrorist from GITMO but Obama circumvented them and ignored their recommendations.

Normally, these agencies must sign off on letting a detainee go. They also insist that their home country have security in place to monitor the detainee. Obama ignored them and had his own special committee appointed who then let him go. They overruled the six intelligence agencies. The White House is playing nasty, dangerous politics.

Barack Obama doesn’t give a damn about national security.

Hundreds of terrorists who have been released on Obama’s watch have gone back to terrorism, not that the President would know about that since the words “Islam” or “Muslim” and “terrorism” can never be used in the same sentence. Or paragraph. Or day.

Among those who have returned to their terrorist ways include three of the five terrorist leaders who Obama traded for the deserter Bowe Bergdahl. We don’t expect this one to be any different.
