Want to Know What Donald Trump’s Tax Plan is? It Might Put Him Over the Top

The Donald actually has some ideas that are worth considering.

He’s taking some heat right now because of his comments on Megyn Kelly, but we think that heat is coming so other candidates – and the media – don’t have to address Trump’s ideas.

Let’s talk about taxes.

Right now the IRS code is just short of 14 trillion pages. You could create a rain forest the about size of China with trees that have given their lives so the federal government could dispense favors to special interests.

Trump actually wrote a book in 2011 called Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again and in it he highlights an interesting tax plan worth discussing.

He’s proposing a four step flat tax rate with no deductions.

  • Up to $30,000 you pay 1%;
  • From $30,000 to $100,000 you pay 5%;
  • $100,000 to $1 million you pay 10%;
  • Above $1 million it’s 15%.

In addition, Trump wants to do the following:

  • Abolish death taxes;
  • Lower tax rates on capital gains and dividends;
  • Lower the corporate income tax from it’s current 39%;
  • Punish companies who outsource jobs overseas with a 20% tax hike;

I don’t agree with all of these, but Trump’s plan is a great place to start a discussion.

Maybe if Megyn Kelly had done some basic research into Trump’s positions on things like this the debate last week would have been a real discussion of what needs to be done to remake America back into America.

Certainly his comments on women who’ve crossed his path don’t make a difference, except to Democrats looking to project their War on Women onto Republicans, and to media “personalities” who are passing themselves off as “journalists.”
