What is this country coming to? Regulating wind for backyard barbecuing? A Florida man recently got a visit by a Pinellas County air quality enforcement official after a neighbor complained about smoke from his grill coming on her property. Yes, really. Cut me a damn break on all this crap:
A video of the encounter posted by Scotty Jordan on Facebook has gone viral with over 4 million views.
Environmental Specialist Joe Graham showed up on Jordan’s property and read the county’s public nuisance ordinance, which he said Jordan was violating.
Graham stated that he took multiple pictures of smoke leaving Jordan’s property, and therefore he was creating a nuisance.
Jordan pointed out that the neighbor who is complaining is across the street and asked the official if he had actually seen smoke going over to her lot.
He replied that did not matter because “I saw smoke leaving your property.”
Graham also said he could smell the smoke on the street, which was another indication it was not confined to his property.
Jordan and his friend making the video are incredulous. “You can’t control the wind. God controls that,” Jordan’s friend says.
Graham suggested Jordan consider buying a better smoker grill and try cooking more in the center of his property.
Or, you can mind your own damn business and let me cook my food, ya nosy jerk.
Really. I mean who the hell is that much of a bitter jackass that they complain about a BBQ? You people need to get a life. Maybe if you were nicer neighbors, you would get invited over for said BBQ.
I bet you wouldn’t be complaining then.
Watch the video.
