LA City Council Makes the City Safe! Finally – No More Violence in LA

That’s right. If you’re looking for a safe city, LA is just your ticket. Yes, there are still some gangs in LA. The Crips, Bloods, Asian Boyz, Mongols, Surenos, Mexican Mafia, MS-13, Pirus, and more, but the LA City Council has defanged them.

That’s right! No more high capacity magazines can be sold or used in Los Angeles. I’m so happy! Our son lives in LA. We can sleep well now knowing he’s safe.

Defying sharp warnings from gun rights groups, Los Angeles thrust itself into the national debate over gun control Tuesday, as city lawmakers voted unanimously to ban the possession of firearm magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

Such magazines have been “the common thread” in almost all the mass shootings that have devastated the country, from Newtown to Virginia Tech to Columbine, said Juliet Leftwich, legal director for the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. Backers of the plan said it was a small but meaningful step to minimize the bloodshed, by forcing attackers to at least interrupt their rampages to stop and reload.

Forcing attackers to reload.

That certainly would have reduced the death toll in all of the cited shooting incidents. Oh wait. No it wouldn’t have. Newtown, Virginia Tech, and Columbine were all “gun free zones”. The perps could have had single shot rifles and killed just as many people. The cops didn’t show up in any case until after the shooter was done.

As for stopping to reload …

Obviously these idiots have never handled a firearm. The time to change magazines in the video is under two seconds. Let’s give that shooter the benefit of the doubt because he’s military and say it would take a civilian five seconds.

And then there’s the problem that a shooter who seeks out a “gun free zone” to kill people isn’t likely to be worried about an illegal magazine.

We’ll still sleep well with reference to our son. He’s a former SpOps Marine and he’s well armed.
