Donald Trump has a well-known persona of larger than life. His face is known from years of being one of the wealthiest men in America. Now, he is running for president, and the liberal rock throwing contest has begun. Donald is not one to sit quietly- he has a few in his pocket himself:
Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has stuck by the comments about Mexico and Mexicans that saw NBC cut its ties with the businessman.
Univision also dropped coverage of Trump’s upcoming Miss USA pageant and in an interview with Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly, the tycoon said that the network ‘didn’t even send me a letter’.
Trump confirmed that he filed paperwork for a $500 million lawsuit against Univision on Tuesday.
He declined to identify people he spoke with at NBC, which will also not show Miss USA or Miss Universe, because the names would ‘come out in litigation’.
The Apprentice host made few attempts to distance himself from his controversial comments, in which he described migrants from Mexico as drug-runners and rapists, saying that they were ‘totally accurate’.
So, even though no one wants to hear anything negative about immigration, Trump is really holding nothing back and delivering some tough blows. If it hurts, I’m guessing it is pretty close to the truth.
He quoted statistics about immigrants in US prisons and a figure from a report done by news outlet Fusion saying that 80 per cent of Central American women and girls travelling to the US are raped during their journey.
Trump’s comments about rapes and drug use first garnered attention during his June 17 announcement that he was starting his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.
They drew harsh criticism from Latino and Hispanic groups that called the remarks racist.
On the O’Reilly Factor Tuesday night Trump said that he did not hate Mexican people.
‘I love Mexican people… I also love Mexico,’ he said.
However, he said he disagreed with US leader’s policies involving their southern neighbor.
Now that is a message that conservatives can get behind. Do we really want someone in office who is going to fold like an accordion every time the wind blows? I don’t believe that Trump will actually ever be in our highest office, but his ideas are good. His points are good.
I saw Donald Trump speak at CPAC, and the one thing he said that stuck with me was “Let’s make America RICH AGAIN’. I thought about this for a moment a realized that America is a joke, because it is beyond poor. We have stretched our limits too far, and we need a good business person to help us fill in the gaps.
Thanks for not being a pansy, Mr. Trump. Now, about that hair….
