Ferguson, Here We Go Again: Family of Michael Brown Files Suit

0

The family of Michael Brown, unwilling to let dead dogs lie, is reportedly preparing to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Officer Darren Wilson and the Ferguson, MO police department.

This follows three autopsies, one conducted by the family, that all showed Michael Brown attacked officer Wilson and Wilson killed him in self defense.

There was a grand jury investigation, the transcripts have been made public, the Department of Justice received daily transcripts and were involved in the investigation.  The grand jury chose not to indict officer Wilson.

The Department of Justice did an exhaustive investigation and declined to file any charges, including civil rights charges, against officer Wilson.

The facts are that Michael Brown, in November of 2013, robbed a store and assaulted the store owner.  He was awaiting trial on those charges when, in August of last year he robbed another store and assaulted the store owner.

Officer Wilson took the call and responded to the scene.  He was given a description of the two suspects, he saw Michael Brown and his friend – who was with him when he robbed the store and assaulted the store owner – walking in the middle of the street.  He drove by, told them to get on the sidewalk and they ignored him. He backed up, and Brown came to the car, words were exchanged and Brown slugged officer Wilson.  They fought over Wilson’s gun, it went off at least once and Brown was slightly wounded and had power burns and power residue on his arm.

After the initial confrontation, Brown ran down the street, Wilson gave chase shouting for him to stop.  Brown eventually stopped turned, facing Wilson, and charged him.  Wilson told him to halt and began shooting.  He fired a number of shots, wounding Brown a number of times and finally hitting him in the head killing him.

Brown’s family is filing suit to redeem Michael’s reputation and to get even.  Or something.  What they should be doing is letting dead dogs lie.  This will not end well for them.

Lawyers for the parents of an unarmed, black 18-year-old who was fatally shot by a white police officer in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson said Thursday that they would file a civil lawsuit in Michael Brown’s death.

Attorney Daryl Parks said at a news conference in north St. Louis County that the City of Ferguson and former Officer Darren Wilson would be named in the wrongful death lawsuit, which they plan to file promptly.

The announcement came in response to the findings of a Justice Department investigation that charged the Ferguson police department with unfairly targeting blacks but cleared Wilson in Brown’s death.

Brown’s mother, Lesley McSpadden, and his father, Michael Brown Sr., attended the news conference at Greater St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, but they did not speak nor take questions.

Maybe one of the reasons they refused to take questions was because they didn’t want to address today’s developments.

The mother of Michael Brown could be charged with felony armed robbery for allegedly attacking people in a Ferguson, Mo., parking lot because they were selling T-shirts honoring the late teenager.

The Ferguson Police Department is currently investigating claims that Lesley McSpadden brought a group of people — including her own mother — to beat vendors and rob them of their “Justice for Mike Brown” merchandise Oct. 18…

And this, just to make it a family affair

Police are investigating Michael Brown’s stepfather for his actions in the hours after a grand jury determined that the officer who fatally shot Brown would not be charged, Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson said Tuesday.

CNN reports that police are trying to determine whether Brown’s stepfather, Louis Head, was attempting to incite a riot on Nov. 24 when he screamed “Burn this —- down” to a crowd of protesters after St. Louis County prosecutor Robert McCulloch announced the grand jury’s decision.

Jackson also told Fox News that charges against Head are possible.

Nice family.  No wonder Mikie grew up to be a two-bit thug.
