You Won’t Believe What Piers Morgan Says About American Sniper: Seriously.

Listen, when Piers Morgan opens his liberal yap in the past, I’ve slammed him like nobody’s business: Gun control freak, anti-Second Amendment, smug liberal in his white tower.

But when he gets it right – I’m giving him big-time credit, and he’s right about Chris Kyle and “American Sniper.”

Piers wrote a review of Clint Eastwood’s film and took Michael Moore to the woodshed on being a thoughtless tool: Hat tip Daily Mail:

American Sniper, currently tearing up the movie box office, is proving to be as controversial as both the man and the war it depicts.

Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in American military history, was either a fearless patriotic hero or a gutless Muslim-hating assassin.

There seems to be little middle ground in public opinion about the ruthless Navy Seal shooter who accumulated 160 confirmed kills out of 255 probable kills.

Michael Moore called snipers cowardsLiberal film-maker Michael Moore even went as far as to brand all snipers ‘cowards’. A stinging claim that provoked an equally stinging response.

And a claim with which I couldn’t disagree more.

I speak as someone who ran a UK newspaper, Daily Mirror, when it vociferously opposed the Iraq War before, during and after it happened.

I was never persuaded of either the legality or merits of this conflict, and I’m still not.

But it wasn’t Chris Kyle who made the decision to invade Iraq.

I wonder what those freaks Michael Moore and Seth Rogen think about being shown up patriotically by Piers Morgan – because that’s exactly what’s happened.

The film is based on Kyle's memoir of the same name

Morgan continues – and I don’t know if I could say it better:

Kyle was just told to go and do his job; to aim his expert eye through the eye of a high-powered rifle barrel and shoot people – before they shot him or his fellow soldiers.

It’s what snipers are paid to do.

Chris Kyle, American Sniper, was NOT a coward.

He repeatedly risked his life serving his country in some of the most dangerous terrain on earth. And by doing his job so well, better than anyone in his country’s history, he saved many American lives.

… HE is a hero. A flawed hero, perhaps, but still a hero.

There you go – Piers Morgan, ladies and gentleman

Read the whole thing here if you must, but there’s a lot of goop in there. I printed the good parts.

Friend me on Facebook – if you dare. No one turned away.
